Notes on metering
What do fiscal and custody transfer mean?
Both refer to measurements that form the basis of financial calculations. In custody transfer, ownership of the fluid passes from one party to another; in fiscal measurement, the metered figure is the basis for tax calculations or production allocation. This is why accuracy and verifiability are critical in these systems.
What are the advantages of multiphase metering?
It measures the well production stream without the need for a test separator. It requires less space, is practical on offshore platforms and at remote wells, and enables continuous production monitoring.
